John brings over three decades of high technology executive leadership to Blue Ridge. He was formerly the senior partner at SpaceVest Capital, a co-founder and senior executive of International Technology Underwriters (Intec), and the Product Manager for HP’s first microcomputers. He has significant public and private Board of Directors experience and has supported professional and community service organizations throughout his career. He holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
As President and COO of Blue Ridge Networks, Mike Fumai draws on more than 25 years of experience with Fortune 2000 corporations in the communications and technology industry to set the company’s strategic direction and drive revenue growth. Prior to being appointed President and COO, Fumai spearheaded Blue Ridge Networks direct sales efforts and directed the expansion of the company’s channel program as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Before joining Blue Ridge Networks, he was Senior Vice President, Global Sales, for Cyveillance, a provider of online risk monitoring and management solutions. Prior to Cyveillance, Fumai served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Sales and Channels at Commerce One/Appnet, (now Perfect Commerce) and he spent 14 years at MCI in various positions including Executive Director, Strategic Services. Fumai holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance from Mount Saint Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland.
Mark has been in the venture capital industry since 1995. Prior to joining North Atlantic Capital in 2000, he worked at Advent International in Boston, and in consulting at CSC Index in Cambridge, MA. He earned a BA from Dartmouth College and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is the past President of the Board of the Northeast Regional Association of Small Business Investment Companies. His current Directorships include the following: AeroSat Corporation, American Fiber Systems, Inc., KickApps Corporation, Synacor, Inc., Vivisimo, Inc., and Voxeo Corporation.
Lt. Gen Donahue culminated his 34-year Air Force Career in 2000 as Director, Communications and Information, Headquarters U.S. Air Force and Commander, Air Force Communications and Information Center, Washington, D.C. In these roles, he set strategic plans, doctrine, policies, architecture and standards for communications and information systems in the Air Force. As functional manager for the Air Force communications and information career field, Donahue was responsible for three field operating agencies: the Air Force Communications Agency, the Air Force Pentagon Communications Agency, and the Air Force Frequency Management Agency. Lt. General Donahue remains active in government information technology. He runs his own consulting practice, he serves on corporate and advisory boards for Robbins-Gioia, Tibco, XTAR, and Eutelsat America, and he is President of the Air Force Command, Control, Communications, and Computer Association (AFC4A). Lt General Donahue was inducted into the Air Force Cyber Hall of Fame in 2008.
Mr. Lawrence is a seasoned executive with over 30 years of general and financial management experience. He retired in 1999 as the acting Chief Operating Officer of Qwest Communications. Before this he was the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Administrative Officer of LCI International where revenue grew more than ten-fold under his leadership. This followed a decade with MCI Communications with responsibilities in sales, service, general management, information systems, finance, and administration. He has held positions on several other boards and held management consulting positions at KKR and Warburg Pincus. He currently serves on the board of directors at 360networks. Mr. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Manhattan College in Bronx, NY and has done graduate work in finance at Pace University in New York City.
